Racism and Xenophobia in the Panhandle 05/23/17

My white privilege has paid off.  It may not be apparent at first glance.  I have paid dearly for my refusal to bow to the corrupt power structure of Amarillo.  But, as I've shared with friends, it could be worse.  If I had been a minority, I would have faced trumped up charges that would have silenced me for years.

I am working on several stories on this topic.  One goes back to the construction of the Lynn Library on the Amarillo College Campus. When it was built, it was to have been named in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr..  The white racist power structure would not allow that to happen.

Another story is much more current.  It involves our immediately past Mayor and Council and a current employee at City Hall.  Stay tuned.
